Please forgive my ignorance but what are those things?

These were used in place of the wing screws on top of cymbal stands...I see BIG money on these. They look to be from the 80's by the card they are on but still i see them going for 100.00+ by auctions end..Mikey

I have four sections of scaffolding that employ the exact same type snaps to hold the cross members to the bucks. I wonder if they borrowed that idea from Buddy Rich???

drumhack!...

Truth be told, Buddy had nothing to do at all with the design and/or development of this item... he just liked 'em! Zildjian developed these, and of course sold them back in the day. I will say that in the 70's, ALL of us used these too. They are indeed a cool little device. What I found out though, after multiple set-ups/breakdowns in the "gig zone", is that the little pin that holds the swivel eventually falls out, probably due to vibration. So in go another set... and so on. Eventually everybody.. ( for the most part ) .. got tired of constantly replacing these, and returned to threaded wingnuts. Buddy though... he must have had a GROSS of these in stock, as they were omnipresent on his set! LOL!!!
