Yep~! Add the BR Zlidjian A's he has and your good to go!! Any takers?? :D
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

... and I must comment, BR freak that I am!
This April, Buddy will have been gone for 27 years, and that has a lot to do with how quickly these may, or may not sell. The reason I say this is, Donn has had this set available for a while now, yet they are still here. The price.. ( IMHO ) .. is too high given the time that has passed since BR passed, and the fact that Buddy's legions of fans/supporters are for the most part... us! By us I mean guys that are in their 50's, or even older. To be sure, there ARE some young BR fans as I know and chat with a bunch of them. For the most part though, we are all past middle age, and in the time that Buddy has been gone, his legacy has certainly faded a bit. The younger players today don't seem to know WHO a lot of these guys were, which is kind of sad as it's always best to know from WHERE everything came/started. Buddy, and Gene, Papa Joe, Louie, and well, you know! All of this said...
... I will say that Buddy HATED the Fibes drums, EXCEPT the snare drum. He felt that they were "thin" and lacking in "tone". The Fibes 690 COF snare drum however .. ( which is what it was called before the SFT throw/release came available ) .. he liked a lot! I have in my Buddy Rich snare drum collection the very 1st prototype Fibes 690 COF ( 1966/67 ) with the prototype throw/butt. I have only seen THREE in this configuration, and one was Buddy's! By my research, he played at least 5, possibly 7, of the Fibes 690 COF model snare drum, most of which took place during his Slingerland endorsement period which ran from late 1967 to 1976. I saw BR play the Fibes back in 1973 at one of the LIVE concerts I went to. I didn't know WHAT that snare drum was at the time, but I knew it wasn't Slingerland! I saw the badge during intermission when I went up to the stage to check out Buddy's drums. I will also say that the Fibes snare drum CUT THROUGH that big band like nothing else. I knew I had to have one, and finally bought one in 1974! So!...
$29,000.00 is way too high.. but! .. all it takes is that ONE person willing to pony up the cash. I 'spose it could happen, but again... two of the drums aren't/weren't Buddy's.

Thanks for the info. I did not know this, Great Super moderator !!! :)
Who was Buddy.....
Thanks for the info. I did not know this, Great Super moderator !!! :)
Well THANKS Mark!... as I DO try to keep my mod duties active and current. The BR stuff though... wow. I have been a fan and serious BR freak since 1967. In that time, well... I doubt there is much that I haven't seen, heard, read, or researched. Assembling the "Snare Drums of Buddy Rich" collection.. ( which took years to complete! ) .. really supplied a lot of the info I know today. Good lord... I have so much BR STUFF, that I feel sorry for Deb should I pre-decease her, and she gets STUCK with it all!
