Calf heads will un tune in open air all depending on humidity. A heating device is recommended so that this does not happen .In olden time a light bulb was use to help in humidity or heating element. Also recommend to Un tune when not in use.

I also like those light bulbs placed inside drums - that looks fantastic on stage! Not sure how to mount them, though.

The way it was mounted was through air vents, They would put a lamp head inside the drum and bring out the cord through vent . Here is a photo so you can get an Idea. The big problem was you had cords running all over hahaha This is a 1920 Ludwig Kit
