Camco COB snare mid-60s Oaklawn badge Tuxedo lugs Last viewed: 3 hours ago

This one's in Sydney, Australia....just letting you know straight up.

Really beautiful mid-1960s Oaklawn, Illinois winged badge 14” x 5” “Studio” model Camco chrome over brass snare drum in excellent condition.

With “Tuxedo” lugs, the wonderfully simple, dependable “beer tap” snare strainer, drum key holder (no key) and Camco’s unique and highly-regarded triple flanged hoops, this drum is all original except for heads and snares – and with only a couple of minor scratches (check photos below).

As the “Studio” was considered a “budget” model, there is no internal damper…less to rattle.

Probably most interesting for the Aussies but quite happy to check out the shipping for anywhere else.

I'm thinking $300 AUD (almost the same as USD at the moment) plus postal costs to wherever people are. Pick-up in Sydney, of course.

That's a cool snare David. Every COB Tuxedo drum I've had or have seen has had the Aristocrat strainer and the tone control. If I were you I'd hang onto that one just because it's a bit on the rare side. Plus the Camco COB is one of the best all around snare drums out there IMO.

Dolfan, I hear ya but I'm actively trying to diversify on the snare side plus, as an apartment dweller, have some space problems - it's a lovely snare but I have another Camco COB which sounds identical and I haven't touched this one in about three years except to polish it.

I'm not busting a gut to sell it but if someone's keen and it's going to a good home, I'm happy to spread the Camco magic.

As I'm in Australia, the chances of there being anyone local are pretty slim but we'll see how we go. Just sold a 6 1/2" keystone supra for big bucks so pin money is not the issue.

Interesting!

I am strapped for cash at this moment, but if it's still available towards the end of the month, I'm keen.

Zac, drop me a PM now so I can give you my email (though I think we've talked on the phone, right?) I forget to look in here as often as I should spending most of my time on "the other one".
