Camco Concert Aristocrat in HG Piano Black Lac. Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Here is one of the 1st that Ryan VonR has restored for me. The attention to detail is absolutely astounding, and no where near what one would get at production oriented restoration shop. There was a ton of love that went into this baby, now one down and 28 more to go!

Thanks for the kind words. It came together nicely. I only wish that I was able to play it once.

The thanks all goes to Ryan, it literally defines perfection and is a testament to his artisan level abilities. This deep dish 14 has a sharp crack and is articulate down to a whisper on top, with the added benefit of a 6.5" plus depth much like a Ludwig snare drum. He even threaded the lug screw holes like Camco did in the last few years of the L.A. era.

No I meant I have 28 Camco orphans/shells that all need tlc from early 60s 4ply, mid to late 60s 6ply, and L.A. era. Keller 6ply. Not 28 snare drums. Basically have multiples in all the sizes, in 4ply, and 6ply Jasper as well as 6/6ply Keller L.A. era. I have been looking for the one to entrust my Camco's to for a very, very long time. In all that time I've amassed enough shells for either Lombardi or Good to authorize the purchase of as many lugs as I need to complete them. Sean out of Salt Lake City, the retailer I use for dw equipment sent them pictures of my vintage dw snare drums along with pictures of all the shells separated by ply configurations and when word came back that I didn't need to turn in any more lugs (the 1 for 1 deal) it was like a gift from God! I think they were also pleased to see one of the 1st 6/6ply Keller shelled snare drums they made back in 1981 with all Camco hardware (strainer and throw off stamped Camco).(Correction, stamped Camloc) I promised pictures of the completed drums, so Ryan has his work cut out for him now...

Got a PIC of that to share here?

Never play it the same way once.

Sure, 1981 dw with the Camloc Throw-Off and Camco Strainer. The shell is 13 13/16" which is the same diameter as the L.A. era snare drums but the depth is 6x14" with dw style bearing edges.

Both the strainer and throw-off are self aligning.
