Camco Kit Last viewed: 12 minutes ago

Hi all,

I'm looking for a reasonably priced Camco kit. I would prefer a player's kit, so it's been re-wrapped or had extra holes, i'd prefer it. I'll be gigging it and don't want to worry about it.

Any finish, Oaklawn era preferred, 18 or 20 bass drum, 12, 14 or 16. As long as the shell is in good and round condition and the edges are good. Not interested in a tuxedo. I prefer the turret lug.

I may even entertain trading a Joyful Noise 14x6.5 Studio Brass snare in mint condition for it. Buying another JN in the future may be easier then finding a Camco kit.

I know they're out there for around $1000 or so. I've seen lots of them from all my google searches, but they are all from a few months ago and long gone. I did find one for $600 but i'm not a fan of 13" toms and 24'' bass drums. As much as i'd love to have that kit, i know i won't be totally happy with it.

Thanks,

Mark

Welcome, too bad your first post was for something you won't likely find here, at the price you are looking for anyway. seems as though who ever has these sets are sitting on them, and most poeple here have some prestine kits, for big bucks. I have been looking for camco's for 2 years now, and I don't even see them come up too often, and when they do, get out your wallet.

Lots of Slingerland drums

I'm not Donald Trump. The only way I was ever going to own a set of Oaklawn Camco's was to assemble orphans I purchased on ebay (over an 18 month period.) Some really great drums come up for auction if you're patient and -ready- when they do come up. Rewrap to match and, 'Viola!' vintage Camco's on the cheap.

If you don't mind waiting patiently, with minimal up-front investment you can put together a killer set of orphans -economically-. If not, you have to be ready to spend more than you've offered. Well over a thousand (easy) on a good day.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
