Camcos, Oaklawn Beauties Last viewed: 48 minutes ago
Hey Roger, this is a great looking set. Cheers to that. My dad used to work at Camco in Oaklawn for a short period of time. This has recently given me a drive to find a kit. Boy, they are expensive though.
Great kit!! I hope to have one like it one day.

I sold a similar one in the same sizes a few years ago. It sold for $4100.

1961 George Way Jelly Bean 20/12/14 w/4.5x14
1960’s Camco Oaklawn Champagne 20/12/14/16w/5x14
1971-73 Camco Chanute Walnut 24/14/18 w/5x14 COB
That poor sweet sounding bass drum definitely deserved better than this.
Talking about messed up Camcos,...
The link to this set was posted here over the weekend.
I prod my dad's mind on Camco often.. He doesn't recall too much, he was a lower level assembler. He was fired for building a kit for my uncle, which was given to me in the early 80's... But, every shell was destroyed by water and negligence before I acquired them. I do have ALL the mounting hardware/Lugs/every screw/BD Spurs/Snare stand/floor tom legs-mounts/rims for a full 5PC kit. I have plans for those at some point in my life, not sure what though.
