Can anyone help identify this vintage pancake snare? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

BC... I think you should start a second thread just for the pancake snare. That would be my advise. I believe that throw off will identify the drum and I have 100% confidence that somebody on the forum can identify that drum.I'm still digging but there are guys on here who have incredible knowledge about drums... we just need them to look at the picture.Yes Sir

So, following Jims advise, here we are. Anyone know what snare this is?

See if you can find a picture of a John Grey Broadway 500... throw off.. or does the tensioner look like this..? When you look at the throw off on the 502 it looks real similiar.

Let's see the inside for marks, dates or other clues that might lead somewhere.

Well BC I apologize... I was sure somebody would know exactly what that snare is.

I'm feeling like it is a John Grey Broadyway 500.

Cheers!!

Many thanks Jim!

I think you could be right judging by those images contained in those links you provided. However, finding a photo of the 500 throw off would indeed confirm it 100% but I have been unable to locate one as of yet.

I think Jim may well be correct in thinking that it is a John Grey broadway 500 but I shall check on the inside of the drum and post details if anything notable is found.
