can anyone identify these single braced, flat base cymbal stands? Last viewed: 12 hours ago

howdy! Hope you all had a great christmas and an even better new year

I'm trying to identify these 2 cymbal stands. They're both different and I'm not sure I'm not sure exactly what company made either of them. I may never find the answer but I figured if there's anywhere in the world I'll get an answer, it'll be here!

I had a few of them in the pass they are MIJ stands. Some people try to pass them off as american stands by adding a north american pole or a cymbal tilter mount .

Not even close. 60's Slingerland stands are very similar to Camco stands of the same era, nothing like these.....

The first one on the left is an older generic MIJ possibly a hybrid assembled with retrofit top rod with tilter. In spite of its shortcomings the middle and base are made of high quality chromed steel. Probably an insert hole right in the lower bottom tubing where the tightened wingscrew fits when the tripod is set up, and usually the middle section has an upper wingscrew which penetrates all the way through the tubing to clamp the top rod directly without use of any vise type joint.

The second stand is most likely generic low end Taiwan. The older ones have metal links a la W&A but most of the newer stuff has the cheap nylon inserts to clamp the tubing.

Just dug out an old Slingerland.. Base is different.. but tilter is the same (except the rivet is reversed)..
