Blair: Do you have Photoshop? Use the "Save For Web" feature.

If not, then use this site to resize your photos:

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/?x=95&y=81

Just set #2 parameter choice to '1000.'

Then select the image you want to resize and click the button. It will ask you if you want to save it to your hard drive. Use the resized images in your posts. You are allowed to add up to 5 images per post.

Another easy Mac trick is to use the screen grab feature.

1. Get your image up on your screen

2. Simultaneously press "Ctrl"-"Apple icon"-4 and you'll get this little cross-hatch symbol.

3. Put that symbol at the at the top left corner of image

4. Click and drag it to the bottom right (it'll form a rectangle over your photo)

5. Release and that cropped photo will appear on your desktop

6. Click on that to open it and "Save as" a JPEG

7. There should be a image quality bar that can control the file size from small to large.

8. Save it again and you're good to go.

Hope that helps!

Another "technique" to use is: Camera Settings on your camera. In set up menu on your camera, set picture size lower (medium or halfway down, set picture quality lower also. Import pics to I photo. Crop as needed. Drag a pic to the desktop. Duplicate it or copy it, to keep the original a high res version.

Open the copy and File save as. Save as j peg.

Then you will see the J peg slide for quality. Take it down to 2 bars from the left to start.

Save it. It should be small enough to post.

Experiment with the j peg slider to see how high, (to the right) you can increase quality and still post.

Good Luck
