Excellent multi-generation photo, robyn! My son doesn't play drums, he chose guitar, but my grandson plays! This is the day I gave him the kit I had put together for him.

Love your family photo...

Hi, Robyn!
The first thing I noticed in your photo was that everyone was smiling! That's the way it should be. Drums and family! One great combination!

John - the kid gets a club date in green sparkle? Start 'em out with the best I guess..
Re-wrap, orphan shells I had. Was just a project kit. He (James, my grandson,) loves them. And yes, start them out right! He'll spend the rest of his life comparing the sound of other kits to this one. Killer sounding Clubbie kit. The 14" FT growls!!! :p
John
nice pics all around!

The grandsons get the best kits from Gramps for sure.I made my 2 year old grandson a 16/12/14 Slingy orphan set, complete with jr throne and cut-down snare stand and hi hat stand. He is the size of a 4 year old,so I don't expect them to last too long!
Good job, John!" "Play Ludwig or else..."
Robyn. that is a nice picture of three happy people. I dont know if I have ever seen this kit. Did you give it to Blake for his birthday?

hi jeff, yep i did. the boy was so excited he didn't know which way to turn, he wore a smile for days.
i ve had this kit for about ten years, i bought it from my daughters best friend. it is a groove purcussion from the late 80s to early 90s, nothing special, just the first kit i owned. never concidered them worthy of bragging about, here anyway. with the right heads and a good tuning they sound pretty good. good enough for the boy to get a feel of drumming and learning what its all about.
the smiles, hugs and kisses i received that day said every thing to me...the boy was the happiest kid in town and thats all that matters to me.
