I'm pretty sure Chad Smith plays and endorses Pearl Drums. I don't like them either but he may not have had a choice.

Chad has been paired with Pearl for a very long time. Who else was going to build the kit? If it wasn't unique to the Super Bowl then it would have little value. I will say it is pretty unimaginative from a graphics design perspective.

Pearl is not all bad.

I have always liked their pedals and some of their hardware is pretty good.

Sometimes the kicks and snares can be decent.
