changing out lugs on Ludwig Rocker tom Last viewed: 7 hours ago

I was thinking about buying another rocker tom to add to my kit. Mine has the mini classic lugs but on ebay I can only find toms with the standard lug. Will the holes line up if I want to switch them out with the mini classic lugs?

My recollection is that yes, you can switch them out. I had a Rocker kit and friends told me that I could do that. The Rockers lugs are pretty boring. Great sounding kit though..

According to a current ebay listing, the hole spacing for some standard tom lugs is 1-11/16".

So the spacing is probably larger/wider apart than the mini lugs? Guess I could always drill new holes

There might be two different sizes of rocker tom lugs- I'm not sure.

I'd ask the seller of whatever drum you're considering to measure the hole spacing for you.

1-11/16" o/c lugs could be interchanged with large classic lugs.

Small classic lugs have a 1-1/4" hole spacing. Not sure if what you have are mini-classics or small classics.

That's a nice looking kit you have.

Nice. That was the identical wrap of my former kit. Decent. But I don;t think you'd hurt the value by doing a rewrap as Rockers aren't highly coveted, unfortunately. But very good drums nonetheless. Keep us updated on the project.

Definitely measure. I rewrapped a Rocker II kit in red sparkle, and have another one awaiting inspiration. If I recall, there are two sizes of Rocker lugs, at least on the first kit I did - the bass lugs are larger (wider hole spacing) than the tom lugs, probably corresponding to large and mini classic lugs.
