anyone think this is a bit strange? they look in nice shape but the dyna badge looks trashed and no pics of badges maybe someone with better eyes can make out the hardware but it looks like fullerton to me... that Tom holder does not seem right for that either .... just saying, what say you guys?
Check out this Rogers set... Last viewed: 5 hours ago
I agree. The badge looks trashed...but the strainer has the same look so it might be just a funky photo. Shouldn't the plate on the bass drum be oval? Or did they use a triangle plate for 2 toms? It looks funny to me. If it's legit it's pretty awesome but just a tad out of my price range.
The tom post receiver on the bass could actually be oval; hard to tell from the pic, but the hardware could very well be the wrong generation for this set. It's difficult to determine as the seller has not posted any pictures of the interior labels. It would be nice to know if these are Clevelands, Daytons, or Fullertons. We certainly can't presume anything from the hardware. Yes, this color combination was a catalog option, but exactly how original this set is remains unknown. Has anyone here ever seen a wood Dyna with star washers? I haven't.
This set is only about an hour away from me here in Connecticut, but there's no sense in taking the drive to examine it when I have no intention of buying it. Even with the matching throne and wood Dyna, we'd still be way to far apart on the price to make a deal.
Know the seller. He is active on several forums, including Rogers Owners. Would believe this to be legit Rogers, based on what I know of him. The way the wrap has shrunk to open the edge seams is normal for an older multiwrap shell. Schools often did school color shells like this.
Hes a good seller, never known any funny business.

That's good enough for me.
for that price the throne has to be the right height for me
I was a bit confused by the explanation of the snare drum, so I messaged the seller. He added my question and answer to the auction page. I'll post it here...
Q: Really cool! Are you saying the Dynasonic is not a true Rogers, but custom built? Dec-31-13
A: No its a custom made drum {by Rogers Co}. all Dynas are custom built {on the badge}.. Custom made means the color combo request and the select wood used to make this Dyna, were a special order.. Only one out of every 50 trees grows like the wood used in making it. Some call it tiger, figured, I call it flame maple {like on a guitar} because its 3 dimensional and appears to look like a flame as you pass it.. I hope this helps.
Now, my issue with this, which I mentioned to him is that ALL Dynasonics that had a badge, included the "custom" word on it. Didn't mean it was truly "custom built". I'm also not aware of any Dynasonics where you could order special wood, such as figured maple. I feel if it has some figuring to it, it's just a fluke, as Rogers used whatever wood was available. Am I wrong here? Please let me know.
