My kit has some kind of residue on the toms and I'm wondering what the best method is to clean this type of finish, thanks.

I have heard that Scrubbing Bubbles works followed by a rinse, but I have not yet tried this product on my own 'flames'

I had a Slingerland kit in Blue Satin Flame many years ago that was dirt encrusted! I used a soft sponge and a mild dish washing detergent. The finish looked great without scratching!

I tried the Scrubbing Bubbles, didn't do a thing, other than making them smell good.Kleening

I used to do same as Mark... ( dishwashing liquid and a soft cloths) .. If I was to have a set now I think I'd do the same but use micro fibre cloths..

Cheers

Here's a few pictures of the residue I'm trying to clean off the tom.

I also have some pictures of the interior ply, I don't believe I've seen an interior ply that didn't go all the way up to the re-ring.

Looks like a spill that got wiped. Did it spill under the lug ? Maybe it will be more defined under it. The lighting is not enough for my eyes.
