Club Date Owners... Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hola Amigos,

I was wondering if any of you Club Date owners can tell me the overall length of the lugs on your bass drums, as well as the length of your tension rods (from bottom of handle to tip). I have a single-tension bass drum that I am considering converting to Club Date hardware. Either that, or I will look for some bass drum Imperial lugs with regular Ludwig t-rods (I think those will work with each other). Let me know!

Thanks,

Aaron

Ludwig only made the double ended "bowtie" lug in two lengths. The Club Date mounted toms used the same length as the snare drums (the shorter version) and the Club Date bass drums and 14" CD floor toms used the longer version. I don't have any handy to measure just now but if the lugs on your bass drum are the short version then they are different than what the typical Club Date would have. On a single tension bass drum the lug casing simply acts as a holder to keep the spacing of the tension rods around the drum and I think they used the shorter version for those. Also, if I remember correctly, the double ended large imperial is quite a bit longer than the big bowtie.

Maybe this will help a bit...

The lug is 4 1/8" and the tension rod is 7". KO is right the long imperial measures 7 9/16".
