Help2 I am not a Ludwig guru, let's just get that little secret out in the open...:)

I am trying to help a guy ID a kit, or maybe just orphans. What he has is a Luwigs-20-12-Pioneer snare in BOP, looks like nickel, but could be chrome as they are early to mid 60s. They hjave ser#, so they are post-64, I think....Anyway, was there a cataloged set in this config? And he would sell, for the right price, but has not exactly said what that price would be. Also has an immaculate 16" Sling FT in BDP with them. So, I know the clubdates were 20-12-14 and Pioneer, or Supra, but was the "Combo" the same set up, just a different era?

The "Combo" was basically the Club Date sans floor tom. I'm a little fuzzy on which snare it came with -- I've seen catalog pages advertising Combo sets with Jazz Fests and with Acros. Not sure if they ever came with Pioneers.

And of course the Combos, like Club Dates, had bowtie lugs on the bass and tom.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

My club date set from 1965 came in the "combo" configuration (no floor tom) and it had a jazz festival as its snare. I bought the set from the wife of the original owner.

According to the ser# guide, this is a 66 model. Would a Combo have come with a Pioneer by then? The drums match. They are all Blue Oyster Pearl and in very good condition. As for the sizes, I am uncertain now. I will have to get that info.

I have a 67 Combo and it came with a acro. Sometime between 64 and 67 they switched from jazz festivals to acrolites. My kit also came with a 1969 Ludwig 16x16 FT. I paid $800 for the kit and they're in amazing condition.
