Hi guys,

Does anyone know when Slingerland changed from brass sticksaver hoops to

steel?

In Rob Cook's book(which is a great source of info) there's a time line chart that dates the change at 1973. I own a 1970 kit and it has COS hoops on it.

I'm sure they are original to the kit (or are they!)

Hoping some of you Slingy experts can shed some light on this.

Thanks Stevo.

Stevo, I would think it more along the lines of when ludwig started the complete change over to steel which was late 60's, I haven't found a 70's model with them yet!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Thanks VM2K, I'm sure the hoops on my kit are original, when I bought it

it still had the original reso heads on the toms,so I'd say they had never

been off the drums since they left the factory.

Late 60's it is then!

Cheers man!

Stevo, I would also think late 60s but i have seen late 60s to mid 70s drums with COB rims on all that drums but then again maybe someone change them out too...Mikey
