Coctail Kit! Last viewed: 6 hours ago

From Tinman

I had a knowledgable friend look at these and he said they are birch with a lacquer finish. The grain runs from top to bottom on what I have. I'll try and get a picture.

No need for the photo, I just wanted to know what they were made of. That's a really cool cocktail kit and for the money, you can't beat it with a stick! You did good with that one.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the Seagulls. Here's one more from them. Again, they are a band of talented musicians. Hey, I'll bet they all met as children at a summer camp for pale young boys! :D

This guy makes some pretty interesting cocktail kits. Billy Blast. I have bought some lugs and parts from him over the years. Seems like a decent guy.

I have come to the conclusion you are born with it, musically speaking. I have a Giuseppe accordion, a banjo, a fiddle/violin, a bunch of drums, a lot of cymbals, some other stringed thing, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, a drawer full of spoons, a vise with an anvil, plenty or wrenches in the tool box and I can't play any of them worth a lick.

These cats look like they bale hay all day long then jam out behind the barn afterwards, and sound like a million bucks!

There is cocktail drum for $100 on the Vintage Drum Exchange web site

http://drumexchange.com/vintage_files/MelodyCocktailDrumset.jpg

The picture has been on the web page a long time, I cant say for certain the drum is still there.

I had one a few decades back. It's one of the many things I wish I still had.

1971 Ludwig Rock Duo set in Blue Oyster Pearl
early Mapex dual bass drum Saturn kit
1964 Leedy Ray  Mosca kit in Blue Sparkle
1959 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa snare in WMP
1968 Slingerland Hollywood Ace Snare Drum
1969 and 1977 Ludwig 400 Supraphonic snares
1965 Acrolite snare
Ludwig Coliseum snare
'68 Rogers Dynasonic snare
Pearl free floating piccolo snare
13" Mapex piccolo snare
6.5" deep Mapex steel snare
Mapex 6.5" Brass snare
I know there's more snares than that.
UFIP cymbals / Avedis Zildjians
Ghost pedals or Tama King Beats

drumexchange looks to have a ton of fun percussion stuff! That cocktail drum (for anyone interested) is still listed there on the site. Lots of cool stuff! Thanks for the link.
