Really? I thought Eric Clapton's trio was the hightlight of the evening, at least what I saw. I liked that there was not a zillion guitars, keyboads, percussion and back up singers. They just jammed! Steve Jordon and the bass player were spot on and his kit was so cool.

+1! How huge were Steve Jordan's hats (attached cell pic)? Love his grooves. Clapton seems to never disappoint. He didn't have to strain to hit any notes and his playing was pretty typical.

Billy Joel and his band were exceptional, I thought. Sounded like Roger Waters had vox monitor issues, sometimes. Didn't care for Eddy singing Floyd tunes. Couldn't really appreciate much of anything else I saw (didn't see the whole show), other than Charlie Watts old Gretsch kit. :-)

That concert was history in the making~! Simply amazing to me all the greats that played. I thought everyone was excellent. I was pretty much in awe watching. I thought Charile Watts played and looked great. Who was the sax player with Roger Waters? I thought he blew some tasty tenor solos and sounded so close to Dick Parry I thought. Bruce's sax player was very good as well. From full bands with back up singers and brass down to 3 pc combo's I thought everyone really nailed it. I plan to watch it again over the weekend.

Glenn.

I thought the whole show was pretty great.I saw the whole thing on showtime, through Fios.Zak was spot on,and used what looked like his jelly bean acrylic superbowl kit.

Yes Kanye was was wearing a leather skirt, that and hip hop.......priceless.:)

What was astounding to me was how many British acts were there.

There was an interview with Jagger who said his home on the upper west side was flooded,so I guess Ron Woods was, since they live around the corner from one another.Right between West End Ave,and Riverside Drive in the 80's

Too bad they only did two songs.

I'm glad the proceeds went to Robinhood Relief, since the Red Cross responce to this was shockingly dismal at best.

Totally agree! Those Cream reunion gigs have gotten his trio chops up, according to him. Hopefully he'll do more of it.

Never play it the same way once.

Johnny , I simply did not like that 3 piece EC was very subdued with no fire in his playing and the drummer looked like a mountain on a mole hill he was a big dude and the kit looked like a toy and the bass player was lifeless as well I have seen EC in Cream and his early solo stuff what was on the TV the other night was only a shell of the mans playing ability but hey it is just my opinion.. lol in contrast Pete Townsend looked like he was a kid in a candy store I really liked his performance as I did Bon Jovi and Eddy V from pearl jam with former Pink floyd players they were great

Steve Jordon is not a big dude and his kit was a Yamaha club kit in what looked like conventional sizes. The bass player was great, remember, these three guys are great musicians, they don't need to jump around or use gimics, they can just flat out play.Bowing
