Consolette Mount question Last viewed: 30 minutes ago

Im doing a restoring project this summer of a Ludwig vintage kit. Ordering parts here and there. Now, putting the bass drum together. I have two consolette mounts/clamps. For the life of me, how does the L arm tighten so it wont move?? On both of these.,..I have the nut as tight as it will go..but L arm still is loose.

thanks!

Have you disassembled, soaked, and cleaned the parts? Then reassembled and tried it again?

Try using a washer under the nut. As large a diameter washer as you can fit.

It will help pinch those flats together closer to the L arm.

Yes, I've had this problem before also. The open gap needs to be closed tighter. Like mentioned, a large washer may help and a lock washer on top of that before the nut. You may need to take the part off and try to close that gap more. There is also the issue if you try closing that gap too much, it will be difficult to put it back on over the rod.
