I painted the hoops and applied the inlay strips. I also scored all new tension rods as 90 percent of the original ones were bent out of shape.

Mounted everything, tuned up the drum and it just opened up.

It has a nice voice and is surprisingly dynamic for a big kick drum.

Evans EQ batter and a Remo smooth white resonant head with a felt strip.

Next up a Silver Sparkle re-wrap.

This should do until I find a proper late '60s BD to match the toms.
