Picked these up today. I really dont know what to do with them other that bring them back to life. Once restored I guess someone will want them. The price was right and I will enjoy working on them. Anybody have a name for these? Check out the almost perfect B/O pointy badges, just had to take em home!

I'd use them for bebop bass drums for a micro coffee house kit. Just make a cradle for it or get a riser. You wouldn't have to drill any holes or alter them -other than to alter their normal, intended orientation! I really don't see what you would do to restore them. They look rather minty!

They need a good cleaning but if you were to see them in person you would see lots of scratches in the veneer. So I think I will strip off the old finish, sand the veneer and spray some new lacquer on them. I dont do any gigs, I play my drums at home every day but have not been in with a band for several years. And even then it was just a garage band thing, more beer drinking than anything. I would love to get into a band but for now I am not good enough. I took a very long break from playing my drums, too embarassed to say how long!
Thank you!

You can get good money for the FT brackets/legs!
What size are the drums?
They are 16" and 14" diameters.
Thank you!

This is the ticket! You have the floor tom and bass drum on your bench.
Those are Ludwig Standard lugs. Get some of the Standard snare lugs (dirt cheap) and you could put a fake (or real if there is a bearing edge) on the front of the 18".
I dont have a 18", they are 14,16. Once they are restored they will be for sale and if that person wants to use one for a kick then go for it. I just got em because they were cheep and I will enjoy cleaning them up. Or I will keep them and just look at them!
Thank you!

Interesting... as you've probably looked it up, the serial number puts the manufacture date sometime in 1976. The "pointy" B/O badge supports that, as well as the granitone interior and the 3-ply shell w/rings.
The thing that is odd is the lugs (which are Ludwig Standard versions - already mentioned), the floor tom legs (which are of the Club Date variety), and the "T" handles. IF I recall correctly, Ludwig did do some "different" things with their school lines, some of which never showed up in any catalogs (or at least didn't show up in their regular, music-store catalogs).
And, it could be that somebody as altered these at some point in time. They do look good, however.
I have a set of marching toms of the basic era. 10x14, 10x16, and 10x18. Red/Gold/Red sparkle, granitone interiors, single-headed 3 ply w/rings, only mine have small classic lugs and the rounded corner B/O badges. I was thinking of making a convesrion to a small, jazz-type set... haven't started that one yet, though, and probably won't for a while...
