I have mine mounted on my smallest crash stand and they sit left of my mounted tom, and aimed at my snare, just a little higher. This way I can 'cascade' down the cowbells right onto the snare head.

Just added a cowbell to my setup a couple months back. Have it located below my hat next to the snare. Clamped to cymbal stand. Good location for ridding on but not so good for anything else. To be honest I'm not sure I like the location. It will be interesting to see what others have done.

Cowbells are outlawed. I That Will Farrell skit doomed them. I remember in my youth hating to play Lady Love (trower) because of the darn cowbell.

I use one often, usually mounted above/to the side of the timpani near the temple blocks and the mounted tambourine for easy reach. On a drum set, the best placement, by far, is clamped to the bass drum, to the right of the rack tom but to the left of the ride cymbal, flat so you can play with the tip of the stick AND the shoulder for bell patterns. Mounting it above the snare, to the left of the rack tom makes that area too cluttered, in my opinion...

What would "You Can't Do That" (The Beatles) be without the cowbell...gotta have it.

I had to play Lady Love in the same set as Mississippi Queen (Mountain). Talk about cowbell overkill! Use to mount the cowbell on the top bass drum hoop in those days, but now it's mounted on the High Hat post along with a woodblock (orange jamblock), with the woodblock on the left below the HH and the cowbell on the right just in front of the snare. Very tight, very convenient.
