cymbal toppers Last viewed: 1 hour ago
They don't like us to post links around here, so Google 'drum dice' and look for a 'four good men' vendor. They should have what you need, depending on the make of your stands.
Good luck.

They are all over ebay!!!!!!!

I only use 1 felt pad underneath with plastic collars around the posts to prevent key-holing, but I never use wing-nuts, toppers or any kind of fastener or felt pad on top that impedes the cymbal from completely free movement after I hit it. Do a lot of you guys use toppers/felts on top/fasteners?

i use the zildjian snaps on top of plastic tubing. no felts up top. have the tubing high enough so that the zil snap can be torqued down on the tubing and allos the cymbal total free movement.

I use the all in one plastic base/sleeve combination. They don't come off of their own accord and cymbal movement cannot push the sleeve off. You can use them with nothing on top if you want.

I use felts and washers top and bottom - as I like to mount my cymbals with some angle. If you use no top - no angle possible (for the most part). That said, I indeed mount more flat than I used to - it is nice to see/be seen and I changed my thrown height and all that (drum angles included) about 10 years ago. Also, I don't like my cymbals to wobble around - would like them in the same position when I go to hit that cymbal again. Freely rocking is very annoying when I go to hit it again.
BTW - Don't waste money on buying the plastic sleeves for your posts- buy nylon tubing - take your cymbal stand top(s) in with you to get the right size. Buy a big long roll of it, as it can also (check size) be used on the inside of the lug casings to replace the springs - to kill that spring buzz. I have seen people sell drums just because their spring buzz was driving them crazy - silly fool - FIT IT! (sorry - just could not believe that when I read it!)
Ya gotta love the tricks - love this forum - the garden of these little tricks!

Good to know it isn't just me. I see threads from guys fairly regularly asking for cymbal clips and toppers and it just seems counter-intuitive to me to add any kind of felt, locks, or washers on the top of the cymbal. I always think in terms of facilitating free vibration not inhibiting it. I do use a little Moongel on the kit though, so I'm not a purist. Was just wondering how many guys lock-down their cymbals.

LOL
I always use the metal washers and felt washers and metal wing nuts on my stands Just guess that is me ..
