Dating a Gretsch RB kit? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Loading...

Bought a lovely kit. Silver interior. 6 ply shells. Diamond brackets. Has the tacked on roundbadges on toms, grommetted on BD. There are no orange labels in the drums and doesn't look like any were removed. Any ideas?

It's a 20,13,14 red sparkle kit. The 13" tom has stick choppers, which I'll probably swap out. The wrap is great, the edges, hardware, etc seem to be mint. I was going to flip it but the sound is amazing. Just killer. So I'm going to make room for it and play it at home.

From reading the gretsch history here: http://www.gretschdrums.com/?fa=historybadges, perhaps it's 61?

Thanks!

Thanks

I also reached out to Steve Maxwell with some additional photos. He thinks its a mixed era set probably made between 57-59. Would love to find a 12 tom or a 16 I could use as a BD at home.
