Dating a Supra LM-402 Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

Hello Folks,

I'd like a bit of assistance from those of you who are probably more knowledgeable about this than I am.

I have an NOS, and flawless B/O Badge 6-1/2"x14" Supra LM-402 in my collection. Was acquired many years ago, and the Serial number is 2110654.

As far as I know, this drum was built circa 1975, but would like asking the Luddy Gurus here to perhaps confirm such?

Many thanks! Mark

Hi Mark -

Click under "Visit our Partner ..." on the right side to vinatage drum guide, then serial numbers : http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/serial_numbers.html.

2110654 = 1980'ish - I believe -

Thank you very much Hobbs, it's deeply appreciated.

So, this drum I have could be maybe '80, to say '82 or so?

How would you folks say such a drum (NOS) ranks in value as far as the value of the LM-402's?

I've been seriously considering selling this snare, as hopes-wishes for a time correct Luddy set in my arsenal have sort of waned, and I'm thinking of selling the drum here, to someone here who can make better use of such a drum, and to better enjoy it. I'm not getting no joy from it, it's been in a case for 7 years, and has only been played once by me. I've had this particular drum for about 10 years now.

As far as duplicating the "Bonham sound", this one is right on the money in spades, and I've laid stick to literally 100's of Snares in my life, from Craviottos, to Gladstones, Dynas, Super Sensitives, TDR's, Spitfires, Fibes Black Beauties, Supers, Sonors, etc, you name it!
