Back in Aug, 2009 I posted pics of a Ludwig Model 4395 I have. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=12642. Because this model was produced relatively unchanged from the mid-1920s through the 1940s it seems difficult to date my specific drum. All catalog pictures of the model show a medium sized "Ludwig" script engraved at a angle across the batter hoop (see the first pic below), except in 1929 and 1930 when it is on the shell. The script on my drum is somewhat smaller and parallel to the hoop. My question is, does this difference allow for a more specific dating of my 4395? I'd like to know exactly (within reason) how old it is. Thanks
