Hey all,
I`m starting to tear apart my 70`s Ludwig stainless kit for detailing...Did stainless drums have factory gaskets under the lugs and mounts? If so, were they rubber or felt?
Thanks in advance...
Cheers

Thanks Mark!! Were Vistalites the only model with gaskets then?

I always assumed the vistalite gaskets were to keep the metal from directly contacting the shell in an effort to reduce the possibility of cracking. just a theory though.

Hides the "messy" interior of the tension casing too.
Plus I was thinking, the vistalite material doesn't have any "give" to tighten "into" like wood does...although the same would go for stainless steel, so...
There are rubber gaskets under all the mounts on mine....but not under the lugs. Hmmmm

funny my octaplus ss had them too, and it was all original man that was a cool kit.....
