Disapointed, Garage sale update Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Man! I am disapointed. The Super Classic for $50.00 is not what it seems. I started taking apart the floor tom and found a few interesting things. If the pictures will load right! First the rack tom is more yellow as seen in better light. Also the date stamp is confusing because the badge indicated an early 60s drum. Clue #3 and most devastating was finding out the drum has been rewraped:( Luckily it seems to be a very good rewrap because in picture #1 I hope you can see that the wrap is about a 1/16 of an inch under the begining plys, so it is not noticable looking thru a clear drum head. It Must have been done by a Pro/Collector because it is really good and is my good fortune. This was always meant to be a players kit so for $50.00 I,am still ok with it.

One pic would not load I,ll try a reply. Tom

the wrap of this era of Ludwig had the wrap inside the beginning ply of the shell that would be factory if that's how yours is? also very common for the badge and stamp date to not match.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

You pretty much hit the jackpot. Your kit is original, and is worth maybe 20 to 25 times what you paid for it if all the pieces left the factory as a kit (I say that because one piece has yellowed more than the others). That doesn't mean that one piece was added later on as an orphan, as an example. Vintage WMP yellows easily, and sometimes the fade is not even across all the pieces.

Still, all that for $50? That's crazy!

Ya - $50 = wow! That's what I pay for coffee in a few trips to Starbucks haha. To get one drum for $50 is good enough, but as said here....you hit the jackpot. You made a fine choice there.

Just so I have this clear - you are disappointed with three Ludwig drums from the '60's for $50 . . . DOH
