For my birthday,my wife took us up to Lake Tahoe to see the Yardbirds.Well 2 original Yardbirds Jim Mc Carty and Top Topham. They put on a ass kickin 90 minute show. What wasnt known is they flew cross country, landed at 3:30 saturday for the 7:30 show. I had contacted Jim earlier about signing a Rennaissance poster from 1970 .So Jim and Top signed it for me.Top mentioned that he was very good friends with Savoy Brown's players, back in the day.I had to ask Jim about Armegeddon, but he had never seen them play live.He heard them at rehearsals I guess, because he said they were very heavy, but good he liked the sound. Got some pictures as well. That sure was nice to do a meet and greet with all of the fans afterwards even though they were all dead tired. They played all of the good songs. even one that Jimmy Page's "other band" did.My wife didnt have a clue. It rocked all the way.I won 300 bux playing keno so it was a win win.The Mayweather fight was going on as well and Harrahs was in riot mode.Journey played outdoors behind Harveys .V

Geez, I remember reading about Relf's death in the newspaper. His death was responsible for the industry-wide 'shielding laws' regarding electric guitars. Keith wasn't the first to go that way either.

I loved the Yardbirds through all their incarnations; Beck, Paige, Clapton etc.

Love the poster! Great graphics from those days. Hippie artists on acid! LOL

John

Too many great drums to list here!
