I've never been very happy with two-ply heads on anything, maybe I'm just stoopid! A disclaimer is of course that I'm not a fan of what someone aptly referred to as "wet" sound. Single ply heads make vintage drums happy!

Well I went out and bought Remo Vintage Emperor Coated for the batter side and Ambassador Clear for the resonant side and we'll see how that goes. I like a clear head on the bottom it lets me gaze at all the work I did cleaning these up and it shows off the date real nice. Ta Da Boom, Splash!
