Drum ID? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hey guys,

This drum set has been posted over and over on my local cl.

I talked to the guy one time about it.

He says it's a re-wrap.

He also said they were Ludwig drums.

I can't seem to find a set in any of the catalogs that looks like this.

I talking about the lugs and placement of the tom mount.

And the fact that the tom mount has 2 tom hangers.

I'm sure some of the guys around here have seen them also.

What kind of set is this?

MIJ?

It might be a decent set for $200.00.

I would only be interested in it if it were something like Ludwig or Slingerland.

It would need some resto for sure.

Ditch that god awful alligator wrap.

What do you think? :)

Notice that the bass drum hoops are metal. :)

The lugs kind of look like Slingerland in these crappy pics.

The toms have that late 60's-70's "dog house" kind of mount.

I don't know what you guys call them but they are not the little "spade" type that the early Ludwigs used.

Maybe it's a pieced together set? :/

That wrap makes me sick,, but anyway, pics of inside? As most of us know, hoop to hoop luan grain will be Asian. The lugs do look to be Slingerland, not sure about the tom mount.

Pretty sure they are Pearl-built stencils. The Pearl/Slingy lugs have the squarish topped base.Pearl rims had a distinctive shape to the area by the rod hole-no flat spot.My 2 cents....

MIJ stencil kit. And how about that wrap?! I have to agree with JC on that.

Yeah,

Thanks for the input guys.

Being that I am new to "vintage" drums I have been looking at every kit that pops up.

This one has popped up several times. :D

There are enough guys that collect drums around here that I figure if they were worth a damn somebody would have scooped them up for $200.00.
