I am going for my first time as well. I will be talking about my research into Gretsch's use of serial numbers at noon on Saturday in the upstairs Master Class room. I will also have a booth with a variety of things. A few of the highlights:1. Ludwig Downbeat kit with matching Downbeat snare in Galaxy Sparkle;2. Ludwig Downbeat kit in Champagne Sparkle with added 9x13 (which resulted in non-original double tom mount) and choice of Jazzfest or Pioneer snare.3. WFL 7x11 and 14x28 set from late 1930s in WMP;4. Ludwig & Ludwig 14x28 bass in Walnut from late 1920s - Painted calfskin and original red/blue lights inside.Rick

Rick,

Is there ever a show in KC?

I am more than likely going. It would be nice to know which members are renting booths so we can meet one another. Or mabye set a time at a hotel bar or something to meet. I have never been before sounds like a good place to spend money! I think my wife and I are planning on Pheasent Ridge, she has been there before and liked it.

Although there are many players who like vintage drums, and a few who actively restore/clean them up, I don't think there is anyone putting together formal gatherings. I will ask Wes at Explorer's next time I am there. He would know about it and may have some interest himself.

Congrats on the multiple college graduations this year. My string of graduations start next year with my oldest child.

Rick

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

Thanks. Hope I didn't sound too much like a braggard with that post. (Although I couldn't be prouder of all four of my kids!)

I'm only about 2 1/2 hours south (and a little west) of KC on US 169. I would definately be interested in a show up there. May be a little too far away to help organize, but would be willing to help any way I can.

Thanks again,

Bill

Hey Jeff,

You'd be close enough for one in KC, wouldn't you? :)

Well St charles is about 2.5 hours Kansas City more like six hours. I do love road trips and drums so yes I would come if the timing was right.

Thank you!
