Drumming And OCD Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Jeez, John! I thought I was the only one! My drums must be set up in exactly the same way or I feel that I will not be able to perform correctly. I even have a turquoise coloured tape measure in my drum bag so that I can measure the distance of the bass spurs between the shell and the stage. Everything is written down. The tape measure must be turquoise because that is the colour of my kit. You may certainly be on to something, my friend! I still like counting though! I believe it is an asset.

Brian

P.S. Thank you for the info concerning the colour of felt for the 20's bass muffler.

I have to say no but then I don't know as I have never been diagnosed, I too have to have my drum logo's exactly right in line with the badge, I too have to have my cymbal logo's just right, but as far as patterns playing nope I can play like Keith Moon possessed one night and like charlie watts the next it just depends on my mood the Bands mood we play alot of jams with extended guitar solo's and no two are ever alike.. just like my solo's no two are ever alike, but i like the same women type... does that count?

Part of me says yes, but then there is another voice telling me no. And then there's a third voice who keeps telling me "@#$%^^&&***" maybe. I think the third one has tourettes....

Wait, what was the question?

I do have a bit of OCD after I do something stupid. I left my front door open for a full day once (we lived in the 'hood). Luckily, nothing happened to my house. After that day, I found myself going back to my front door three or more times re-checking whether or not I locked it. There were times I would be five minutes on my journey and turn back around just to make certain I locked my door. Now that I don't live in the 'hood, I don't find myself doing that any longer. Maybe the fact I don't have to worry about my house getting robbed has something to do with that...

I don't know if that has anything to do with OCD, my friend. I too live in the 'hood. I think that you were just being smart!
