Drums in Movie sound tracks Last viewed: 4 hours ago

My son showed this to me the other day, when they made the superman movie Hans Zimmer wanted the drums to sound like a wall of thunder and he knew he could not get that done using one or two drummers over tracking, so he brought in 12 world class drummers, set them up in a HUGE studio all facing one another, gave them the same score sheets and let em go. the results were sur-real, the link won't work however on this computer

Well that is great big fun. I had no idea Pharrell Williams was a drummer by the way. All that and the Arby's hat.

That is also a great example of what acoustic drums sound like prior to be mic'd and processed.

Thanks, slingerland. That was great! Several years ago, I saw Sheila E in one of Ringo's bands. In the middle of a solo, she became agitated with the sound of one of her rack toms. No problem! She continued playing with one hand while tuning the errant tom with the other! The lady was phenomenal! Not bad on the eyes either!
