I was going to buy the 3 pt strainer they sell. I also saw the thread with the broken strainer rivet. I figure for $40 it's not bad and a easy fix to peen over the rivet head or replace it with a screw and nut if it fails. This is a ways off for me but interesting the hear feedback on them.

Just an FYI ...that repro dosen't line up with vintage Slingerland mounting holes.

I called Andrea at Precision and ordered the wrap. She sent me this email:

From: "Precision Drum Company, Inc."

To: John Velez

Subject: Re: Pre-cut 16x16 Merlot

John,

Thank you for your order. I will make a note to call you when it comes in. It should be in about 2 weeks or so.

Andrea

So, now I wait... thanks for the input guys. Apparently, if you don't buy this Merlot wrap from Precision, it can't be had! Precision must have an exclusive on the Merlot. Nobody else has it save for Steve Maxwell and you have to order a custom-made Gretsch kit to get it!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

2 weeks isn't too bad of a wait. Hopefully it won't be longer. Interesting they are the only ones to get the Merlot wrap. It's a cool color and neat it's used on the new kits. Classy stuff there. Burger Kin

Thanks Steve good to know! This would be for a home made drum I'm making in the future. The repop from AK looks very nice but man $150 and shipping from Italy can get expensive. A real RK is on my bucket list. Someday I hope. Violin
