Gary thanks for the pics and info~! Whats old is new again. Interesting drum. Any idea what they retail for? Just curious. Hope you were feelin better for the rest of NAMM. Glenn.
Yes Glenn, felt better Saturday and went. Big zoo on Saturday, I like Thursday much more. Got to have dinner with some drummers, chatted with Stanton Moore and ended up buying a snare from him off his Indie-Gogo site after he offered that he and Ronn Dunnett sign the shell for me. Also picked up a nice Amedia crash cymbal.
I have no idea what the Parasonic's retail for, but knowing DW, I'm gonna say 600-750 easy. There going to use that snare bridge as a marketing tool to those who don't have a Dyna, but have heard them.
Neatest gadget was a few things from a company called BillDidIt. A hi-hat clutch like no other I've seen. They don't have a demo on their site which is too bad. When I was checking them out, the person displaying asked me if I could sit and play it the rest of the day. I jokingly told them to pay me, guess he didn't get it.
Lastly I have a friend who works in Fender's Custom Shop as a builder. He saw a FB post of mine and said I should go check out some snares that he did for Gretsch. I was at the display when he texted me and told him to give me the "tour". He laughed and said he "doesn't do NAMM on Saturday". Needless to say, I checked them out. If you like having a new snare that looks like it's been used, then this is right up your alley. They also "reversed" the finish on a 3 snares, where the wrap was on the inside of the shell and the silver sealer Gretsch paint and sticker was on the outside. Those didn't impress me much.
