Anyone have recommendations for what snare wires to use on a metal Dynasonic? Has anyone tried the Puresound ones?

I have a set ordered right now from Interstate Music. Puresound wires usually sound a bit darker than original wires... but still a great sound!

Have wood Dyna with Puresounds. Works well. Have another wood clone with Grover wires. Came with it years ago, so not sure if they are still around.

PURESOUND FOR .............. Rogers Dynasonic.

They are unique wires. Nothing else replaces them, except for the ORIGINAL or the PURESOUND.

Bentleys in fresno CA has them for about 39.95.

Do you have the snare frame? If not you might try a rhythm tech active snare system

I've got the frame, but did notice that the Rythm Tech system looked a lot like the dynasonic frame. Thanks for the suggestions and pointing them out on amazon. Sam Ash music said they could get them, but it would be about 40-50. Ouch!

bentleys is on ebay.

The r. t. thingy is a POS in my opinion. I do own quite a few Dynasonic snare drums. I know the price for the wires is up there, however, if you want to own a Dynasonic, that is the price of admission. Anything less, is half a drum.

That's well said and a great point about all of vintage drums. If you want to play them, you have to maintain them and when you need parts they aren't always available or cheap.

I've never played a Dynasonic and I got a good deal on it. So I hope I can get it set up right and is worth the trouble.
