Early 70's Champagne Sparkle Ludwigs 20/12/14 Last viewed: 8 hours ago

So I've got a set of Early 70's Ludwigs in down beat sizes that I just recently picked up. I was wondering if someone could help me price these out as I'm looking to either put them on CL or ebay (or even here if someone would like to make an offer ;)...)

They are clear interior 3-ply. The owner told me he purchased them one by one when he was in high school (as he could afford it). I've searched everywhere for another 70's Ludwig in Downbeat sizes but there seems to be very few examples to gage a price from (I've looked in the catalogues as well and from what I could gather they dropped the downbeats before the blue/olive badge was introduced).

The wrap is in fantastic shape. There's little to no fade (I try and be as conservative as possible when it comes to pricing my equipment out so this may even be an understatement). There is some slight pull (as you can see in the picture gallery) but no lift. The 14" and bearing edge and the 12" bearing edge have the same situation where there's a slight gap. I brought it over in another thread and was told to leave as is, because it isn't cracking (SOURCE: http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=44404)

Has all of the internal mufflers, tension rods etc and even the original heads batter and reso. Everything is original as far I can tell.

Thanks!

Those are super nice. I had some toms whose wrap had receded like that and I was able to get the small line of glue off and you could not tell. That is the more pinkish Champagne wrap that came on the B/O badged kits. Still beautiful. Your kit matches great.
