I have an early 1980s Tama Imperialstar Kit, circa 1983 if memory serves. (I ordered this kit from Jammin' Jersey Music in 2001, so it's been a hot minute since I ordered it). It originally had a silver wrap on it, but due to damage and the fact that it had no luster left, I removed the wrap, and my wife put a layer of zebra print fabric on it. Due to the fabrics much lighter weight, the resonance of these mahogany monsters has improved greatly! I tried to paint the hardware to match, but it was very susceptible to damage and scratching. The badge itself does not look good either, as it had to be moved to get as much of the original wrap off as possible. Needs new heads for sure (front head was removed). I am asking $300 for it.
