Earthquakes...and such... Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Well, I was living in Monterey, CA on that fateful day in October of 1989. I watched the streets literally ripple up and down, the floors in our house did the same. The bars on Lighthouse opened their doors and charged whatever you were willing to pay to empty the coolers as they knew we would be without power for days. Free beer for everyone!

Fast forward to 11-5-11, Norman OK. We just had a 5.6 mag....and this is Oklahoma...

I was just exiting the Caldecott Tunnel in Berkley on that day in 89. My parents live about 140 miles from OKC.

The planet is saying NO to what we are doing to it. I hope we aren't around when Yellowstone Park and all of it's geothermal pleasantries decide to clear the carbuncles' and get to unleashing all of that pressure. That will be THE game changer, for sure.........

Maybe I will learn some triplets before that happens though.....LOL.

Eh, I think the planet is just doing what it's been doing for millions of years... but that doesn't mean we shouldn't care about it!

Had a small 3.2 quake 30 miles northwest of Prescott, AZ (about 120 miles NW of Phoenix), a week ago. The plates are a movin'. Nothing really new, in Earth-terms. For people, yes.

I missed the big one but was living in an airstream trailer located at Fallbrook southern CA in 1999 when a 7.1 hit in Joshera? Tree Nat. Park at about 3:00 in the morning. I went outside watched trees shaking and ground moving and remember thinking "I gotta get out of this place" Humm! sounds like a song or something.

Now living in Va and the quakes must have followed me because I felt the ground move again this past summer. Now to old to worry so think I,ll stay put and take my chances. Wait, it could have been a Med. also? cain't remember, man I hate growing old.
