Ebay seller from Japan listing used items for triple their value! Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Check out seller "catchthewavejapan" on ebay. Take a look at the items for sale.

A Pearl Midtown kit for over $1100?

A Ludwig Questlove kit for over $1000?

A 3 piece Pearl President kit for almost $1400?

A B/O Supra for over $1000?

The seller says everything is used, but is using stock photos for everything that is available "new". I reported the seller to ebay.

Ridiculous! Does the greed/scam ever stop?

I've seen all the items this seller offers and have never figured out why the prices are so high! Honestly, I don't think anyone from the States would purchase these. Just my :2Cents:

I'm curious why you reported him to Ebay. Having purchased a couple of items from this seller, I have never had any issues. Sure, I paid a lot for some discontinued drums but it was just a situation of, "Go find another." I was considering buying another orphan drum that I will otherwise probably never find. Have you had a bad experience with the seller? Thanks for the insight.

Sellers can ask any price they please, that is not a crime. Happens on a regular basis. Anyone see the $9500.00 60's WMP Slingerland set on eBay (#182417265150)?

I also have purchased from the seller. Transaction was perfect. I play Pearl drums and more than a few times I had to buy from a seller in Japan because that particular item was only available to Japanese dealers. I've got some really cool stuff. ALL perfect transactions.

Looking for a late 80's to early 90's, preferably Arctic White Pearl MLX 14x14 floor tom.

Surely they are worth what someone is willing to pay. Advertised prices are just that.

I love Japan but have noticed a lot of strangely inflated prices on drum gear items for sometime now. Often the same items are offered by the same seller for hugely different prices running simultaneously. You would need a big, big wallet for a Kitano drum kit!
