I saw him in a Drums Only! drum clinic in Vancouver Canada in the early 70's if I remember correctly. Yes.....an amazing drummer. He had experimented with having every second tom (on his large kit) electronic. He said he liked the "different" overall sound he was getting. It was a smallish clinic and it was nice to be close up to all his demonstrations. He had a great clean style. His drum battle with Buddy Rich is good.
