Yamaha Floor Timpani recording series ever seen one?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a question for all you Yamaha oficianotoes. I have a Yamaha recording series 16" floor tom that has a foot pedal that actuates an internal timpani mechanism. I acquired it in a trade so I'm not sure of it's history or if it's called by Yamaha a "floor timpani" I need parts for the foot pedal linkage. I have gone to the yamaha corporation web site and entered the model number (FT-916T) and got no information, it doesn't even come up in their system, I'm stumped!

I googled searched every Yamaha web site and still have not found even a single referrance or picture of this drum. Has anyone ever heard or seen one of these 16" floor timpani before.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Looks like Jose at Revival Drums had one on the market...that's a different bird for sure.

Nothing original there - Yamaha merely copied the Meazzi Hollywood President tympani floor tom manufactured in Milan, Italy way back in the 1960's.

Bryan,

You must have one of these....

They're not that common, and usually sell for a good price when they come on the market, but finding parts for that tuning mechanism is going to be tough. Good luck. Post a note here if you're going to sell it.
