Faded WMP Wrap Last viewed: 19 hours ago

Loading...

I tried searching on this topic, assuming it must have been addressed before, but I didn't uncover anything that seemed to apply directly.

I'd like to know if anyone has successfully restored a WMP wrap that was faded as the one shown in the attached photo has. And to go right to the issue, can this be made uniform across the drum. I'm not asking if it can be returned to the original whiteness of the factory condition.

Thanks,

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

How much elbow grease went into that project? That is an incredible result.

Marko did a nice job on de-yellowing some WMP Clubdates recently. Maybe he will see this and chime in for us.

That wrap just looks dirty. Pull the hardware and couple of scrubs with diluted Dawn using micro fibre towels. New towels and Novus #1 and some paste wax an those will shine. Bit of work though. Interested in what you decide to do. Thanks!

Me too. If not skilled the wrap is ruined.

Nothing special here but I like them.

Not much at all! The thinner does all the work, but you have to be very careful, too much thinner or elbow grease will cause the pearl to come off too.

I think I have one of the few sets around with minimal fade
