I have a late 70's slingerland kit I'm cleaning up now, no snare.
Can get a slingy 80's 700 series 12 lug 8 x 14 chrome 5 ply, good condition
for $100 to $130. comes with decent case and extra new remo head.
Is this a decent deal?

Sounds like a fair price to me too....
Or......... you could get a era correct 5x14 Sound King in decent shape for the same money. Might have to wait a bit though.
Or, here is what appears to be a nice Festival from the seventies ( not mine BTW ) for $145 BIN......
There's a couple of Sound Kings on eBay now too that are auction style listings.
