fair price for good condition pioneer snare? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I'm thinking 1960's era, good playable condition. Doesn't have to be collector's mint or anything.

something like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ludwig-5x14-Pioneer-6-Lug-Snare-Drum-Red-Sparkle-Pre-Serial-Early-60s-/360466195462?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item53ed75a406#ht_1427wt_1077

What would you guys say?

Thanks

$300 for a PIONEER?!?!? :O. Well, that red sparkle pioneer wouldn't sell in Portland for $300, that's for sure! There's a pre-serial red sparkle Ludwig 8-lugger in Portland for $250 that's been on craigslist for months now.

A good condition Pioneer would sell in Portland for no more than $150 on a good day. They usually run about $100-$125. I don't know how prices are elsewhere...

1970 Ludwig Downbeat
1965 Ludwig Hollywood
1970 Ludwig Jazzette

I have a couple blue sparkle Pioneers but $125-$150 might happen if I keep the rims!! That price range would be correct if you are buying them to resell

but paying $250 for a good condition Pioneer wouldn't make me lose any sleep.

$100-$125 for a not so nice duco or natural finish up to $250 for a mint condition sparkle, up to $2100 for a pink oyster....
