From rastus

Here's Keith playing Dave Clark's Rogers set.

Given Keith's reputation for destroying drums, I wonder if Dave was 'Glad all over' when he got it back - especially if it wasn't in 'Bits & Pieces'! Sorry, couldn't resist it.

"If 'A' equals 'success' in life then 'A' equals 'X' plus 'Y' plus 'Z' where work equals 'X', 'Y' is play and 'Z' is keeping your mouth shut" - Albert Einstein.

1920s 14"x5" Ludwig Super Sensitive Dual Snare
1957 6 1/2" x15" Slingerland WMP Concert King
1938 8"x15" Leedy Broadway Standard
1947-53 14x6.5" NOB Ludwig & Ludwig Universal
...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.

That Rogers Dynasonic Krupa is sitting at looks like a 4" deep shell. It's either that or the heads are way over-tensioned. Are we viewing a custom made drum, or is someone aware of 4x14 Dynasonics?

Saw this the other day. Jeff Porcaro playing Zildjians!

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYr3OJOXk60"]Toto - Stop Loving You - YouTube[/ame]

This is the video to "Stop Loving You". Porcaro is so synonymous with Paiste, this seems really odd. Even it was just a "house" kit for the video shoot, you would think his Paiste endorsement would overrule, just like his Pearl endorsement (which he is using Pearl here).

Was Porcaro ever a Zildjian endorser, even if for a very brief time?

Here's another:

Stewart Copeland playing Yamaha. Not sure when or where this was. It's a little hard to see in this photo, but I have seen the book in person, and they are definitely Yamaha drums (the wing nuts and hex rods give it away).

One more:

Stewart Copeland playing Zildjian. The splash on the left of the photo clearly has a Zildjian logo.

This photo is in the booklet for the "LIVE!" double CD set that came out in the mid 90's. It's much clearer on there. The weird thing is, the Zildjian logo looks backwards or mirror imaged, but everything else in the photo is certainly not. Perhaps it was a hollow ink splash? I've seen many logo anomalies on hollow ink splashes, including none, upside down, and filled in all the way like a later model.

Apparently he insisted on Gretsch Drums in the studio all his career. I've seen it written that eventually he got his tech to fit out a set of Gretsch shells with Pearl hardware for the road. Makes sense. Gretsch have suffered with mounts for years, and considering the time frame, Pearl where probably shooting one hell of a deal for him to play they're gear.
