Favorite Ludwig finish? Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

Gotcha...so I guess the champagne Ludwig 60s drums that I recently got is actually pink champagne sparkle. For some reason, I was thinking pink champagne was a separate color with Ludwig back in the 60s, but wasn't sure. I love this set! Great look for sure!

#1 - Mod Orange! Although I traded my Mod Otange kit for a Camco kit in Burgundy Sparkle. My current Ludwig is WMP but I'd love to have a Mod Orange kit again.

#2 - 70's Gold Sparkle - First pro kit I ever saw was a B/O kit in gold sparkle. To this day I get tingly inside every time I see a kit!

Blue Oyster Pearl

Black Oyster Pearl

Psychedelic Red

Orange Mod

Gee, can U tell I was a 60's child? Party

I still don't own any Orange Mods, but considering building a 3 ply 60's set and using the Jammin Sam Orange Mod wrap, it's stellar looking!

Currently working on a 7 piece virgin double bass 3 ply early 70's Ludwig kit to be wearing....MOD ORANGE.

Black Panther finish circa early 70's. The cover + the blue/olive badge equals perfection to me!!!

From ModOrange

My first set in 1967 was a Hollywood in pink champagne. It sparkled and morphed under the lights like no other color I've seen since.

same here i walked in to biascos in 67 spring and there it was sitting on showroom floor in all its beauty i was 15 my first mij kit in red sparkle was a basic beginner kit traded it in...

there it was

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

My black diamond pearl super classic just arrived...they even look better in person. It reminds me of Levon's old kit, so these are pretty special to me.
